ELMER JOHNSON (Jackie Stewart): Mack’s longest employee. A folksy, cheerful, colorful hillbilly type, Elmer knows how to turn a phrase the country way, like “Butter my butt and call me a biscuit!” He knows absolutely everything that’s going on in Mack Grady’s Theater. He’s the theater carpenter, maintenance man, gardener and jack-of-all-trades. Elmer tools around the theater lobby and parking lot in his supply-filled golf cart wearing a smile and his well-worn overalls. Elmer’s friendly with everyone (except Scott), but he’s especially chummy with Merle.
